Business Intelligence Analyst

This is a full-time remote role for a Business Intelligence Analyst. In this role, you will leverage data analytics and engineering to support decision-making processes and drive business strategy across multiple portfolio companies. Responsibilities include data modeling, building dashboards, utilizing business intelligence tools, and conducting business analysis. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and address their strategic needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Data Engineering: Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, evaluate data availability, and ensure high data quality. Build robust datasets to support advanced analytics, detect anomalies, and enable seamless data access for reporting and analysis.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, diagnose issues, providing critical insights for business growth.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Develop intuitive dashboards and reporting systems using Tableau, Power BI, advanced SQL, and data visualization techniques.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Technology teams to address key business reporting and KPI requirements and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Optimization: Improve the performance and usability of reports and dashboards.
  • Automation: Create automated workflows and solutions to streamline recurring analyses and reporting, improving operational efficiency.
  • Data Governance: Work closely with data engineers to improve data infrastructure and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: At least 3 years in BI, data analysis, or analytics roles, ideally with exposure to data engineering.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a numerate field (Data Science, Business, Economics, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in advanced SQL (SSMS, Snowflake), Power BI (including DAX), and Excel modeling. Python or R skills are a strong advantage.
  • Data Engineering Expertise: Familiarity with building and maintaining data lakes and pipelines.
  • Business Acumen: Experience working with diverse stakeholders and delivering insights tailored to business needs.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Independent: Confident in managing your workload and projects autonomously in a remote setting.
  • Proactive: Take initiative to identify opportunities, solve problems, and deliver results without waiting for direction.
  • Organized: Skilled at prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining focus in a self-driven environment.
  • Working Environment: Experienced in a dynamic environment working on multiple projects, ideally startup or tech company experience.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and German.
