BERLIN, 5 June 2026 – ORCRIST Technologies, a specialist in data fusion and AI analysis, has acquired intelligence-technology start-up Lancelot Systems.

ORCRIST is a German mid-sized data-analysis company that develops agile AI software for the security and defence sector with more than 150 employees and complete financial independence.

The combination brings together the German companies’ expertise in software-supported data analysis and their experience in Ukraine.

The acquisition is intended to close a national capability gap in integrated operational pictures and situational analysis for security authorities, defence organisations and operators of critical infrastructure, building on ORCRIST’s German-developed analysis technology.

Integrating Lancelot Systems’ video and image analysis with ORCRIST’s existing text and audio analysis creates a platform that combines data channels independently of individual vendors. This enables users to identify hybrid threats in data streams at an early stage and make timely operational decisions.

“Hybrid conflicts require shorter development and response times,” says Yorck Hesselbarth, CDO of ORCRIST. “By acquiring Lancelot Systems, we are integrating additional data expertise and development resources into our core system. This shortens innovation cycles for our customers and expands our portfolio for civil and military security analysis.”

Data protection and the European legal framework

Compliance with German and European law is a central focus of the shared product architecture. Both ORCRIST’s systems and Lancelot Systems’ technologies were developed in Germany under strict requirements for data protection, IT security and digital sovereignty. The combination offers public-sector customers a national alternative to non-EU software.

“Critical analysis technologies must be developed within the European legal framework. Europe must also have its own sovereign technologies to protect our security,” says Merlin Hipp, founder of Lancelot Systems. “Integration into ORCRIST’s structures ensures that our capabilities can scale while maintaining European security and data-protection standards.”

Technical integration and brand

Lancelot Systems’ proprietary analysis engines, Avalon and Gral, will be integrated behind the scenes into the existing Orcrist Intelligence Platform. The Lancelot brand will remain as a product and capability name for existing customer relationships.
