Lead the technical development of our geospatial intelligence and GEOINT capabilities. You'll architect satellite imagery processing systems, develop ML models for automated analysis, and mentor engineers to deliver operational intelligence solutions. This role combines deep GEOINT domain expertise with technical leadership of a specialized geospatial engineering team.
Architect imagery processing pipelines for satellite, aerial, and drone data
Lead technical design of geospatial analysis and visualization systems
Provide domain expertise on GEOINT workflows and intelligence production
Develop ML models for automated feature extraction and change detection
Mentor engineering team on geospatial algorithms and remote sensing
Establish standards for imagery handling, metadata, and quality control
Design movement tracking and pattern-of-life analysis systems
Collaborate with defense/intelligence customers on GEOINT requirements
Evaluate and integrate commercial satellite imagery providers
Guide technical roadmap for geospatial intelligence platform
Build geospatial data infrastructure at scale (TB+ datasets)
Contribute to critical geospatial processing components
7+ years experience in GEOINT, remote sensing, or geospatial intelligence
3+ years technical leadership or senior engineering role
Expert knowledge of GEOINT concepts and imagery analysis workflows
Strong understanding of SAR and EO satellite imagery
Proficiency in Python with geospatial libraries (GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas)
Deep knowledge of GIS systems and spatial databases (PostGIS)
Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geodetic concepts
Experience with imagery formats and metadata standards
Computer vision and ML for imagery analysis
Built operational imagery analysis systems
Experience with classified systems and defense customers
Eligible for security clearance (EU/NATO citizen)
German language skills
Advanced degree in geography, remote sensing, or GIS
Experience as imagery analyst or GEOINT professional
Knowledge of NGA standards and intelligence community workflows
Multi-spectral, hyperspectral, or SAR processing experience
Photogrammetry and 3D reconstruction skills
Publications or patents in geospatial analysis
Experience with commercial satellite constellations (Planet, Maxar, Airbus)
Full motion video (FMV) analysis background
Drone/UAS imagery processing
Government contract delivery experience
Knowledge of OGC standards and geospatial web services
Lead geospatial intelligence domain in growing defense tech company
Modern engineering practices vs. traditional GEOINT contractors
Remote‐first in Germany with occasional team events in Berlin
